If you're a fan of the Despicable Me franchise, the fart blaster is nothing new, showing up in every one of the movies. An invention mistakenly created by none other than Gru's kooky gadgeteer Dr. Nefario, the fart blaster loudly releases stinky gas that's powerful and smelly enough to stun the enemies — not silent or deadly, just plain gross. And this year, to coincide with the release of the franchises' latest film Despicable Me 4 includes the release of The Ultimate Fart Blaster, the kid-friendly version of the beloved device and a Good Housekeeping Best Toy Awards winner.
Let's cut the cheese — I mean cut to the chase. Not only does the Ultimate Fart Blaster look just like the one used by the Minions on the silver screen, it also makes 20 hilarious sounds including the infamous Minion laugh and more than a dozen variations of funny flatulence, ranging from small and squeaky farts to wind-breaking blows. I haven't even gotten to the best part: It shoots out rings of fart smoke.
Most fart toys only make silly sounds, so our kid testers especially loved that the Ultimate Fart Blaster produced smelly smoke rings. One parent shared, "He got a kick shooting it around the house and trying to walk through the fart smoke (and blasting at his parents)." Another added, "Both my kids loved playing with this and blasting each other with the farts."
To use the Ultimate Fart Blaster, you first need to charge it up with six AA batteries, which are not included. Then, it's time for the fart formula. Lay the toy on its side, open up the fluid plug and empty some fart formula into the chamber (included). You have the option to choose between either banana scented or stinky smell gas (don't worry — the stinky smell is comparable to burnt popcorn). Next, flip the on switch to activate the bright green lights, pump the lever a couple of times to build up steam, press the main trigger and let it rip. The toy emits fog and smoke rings that float up to six feet away.
The only complaint from one kid tester: "It didn't have enough fart juice." A couple of parents pointed out that their kids were disappointed when the two included bottles of fart formula ran out because there's currently no way to purchase refills without buying an entire other toy.
Overall, parent and kid testers were pleased with the toy, and parents shared that the Ultimate Fart Blaster provided hours of entertainment for the whole family — from two-year-old little brothers to grownups.
At the time of writing, the product is sold out on Amazon, but you can purchase it at Walmart or Target.
